Originally published by Charles Scribner's Sons (1934).  Complete 4 volumes, bound in red cloth, with gilt lettering and rules to the spines and front covers. Illustrated with Maps, Portraits and Plates. Vol. I has mottling to front cover. Chips to head and foot of spine and corners. Rubs to cover. Vol. II has mottling to cover. Small chips to corners and spine ends. Vol. III has a few rubs cover, and minor chips to spine ends and corners. Vol. IV has very minor mottling to front. Bumps to spine ends and small chips to corners. All four volumes show wear to covers and there is a darkening to the lower 1" of all book spines. Gilt has faded on spines. Some foxing to pages. They all have previous owner's name penned to front endpapers.
