Life and Sport in Aiken--And Those Who Made it

By Harry Worcester Smith
Published by Derry Dale Press, 1935 (New York)

Green cloth hardcover in Fine condition with DJ in Very Good condition.  Limited/Numbered edition, one of 950 copies published in 1935.  8vo - over 7" - 9" tall.  From the jacket-- "The story of life in this sportsman's paradise, its history and development, and the men and women who have made it.  This book is not only full of sound sporting lore, but it abounds in anecdotes."   Book is without a name or mark in it.  Tissue guards in place.  Top edge gilt is bright.  Cover and spine titling in gilt bright.  What makes this copy particularly attractive in the presence, bound in between pages 52 and 53, of the complete fold-out, in pristine condition, of the author's 1930 sheet called "The Battered Brigade."  The dust jacket, in new Brodart, is nearly flawless on the front, exceptions being slight chippings at the corners.  Head and foot of spine have small missing pieces.  Back cover shows slight browning at light-colored edges.  Fully indexed with hundreds of names.
