Published by G. P. Putnam's (1865-1880).  27-Volume Set of 3/4 Leather and marbled boards. Dates from 1865 to 1880. Titles include: "Life of George Washington" (5 volumes); "The Life and Voyages of Christopher Columbus to which are added those of His Companions" (3 volumes); "Life and Letters of Washington Irving" (3 volumes) by his nephew Pierre M. Irving; "Mahomet and His Successors" (2 volumes - volume numbers switched on spine); "The Alhambra"; "Astoria or Anecdotes of an Enterprise beyond the Rocky Mountains"; "The Biographies and Miscellanies"; "The Adventures of Captain Bonneville U.S.A. in the Rocky Mountains and the Far West"; "Bracebridge Hall or the Humorists, A Medley" by Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.; "The Crayon Miscellany"; "Oliver Goldsmith, A Biography"; "Chronicle of the Conquest of Granada, from the Mss. of Fray Antonio Agapida" (several duplicate pages in front, including title page); "A History of New York from the Beginning of the World to the end of the Dutch Dynasty"; "Salmagundi; or, the Whimwhams and Opinions of of Launcelot Langstaff, Esq., and Others" by William Irving, James Kirke Paulding and Washington Irving; "The Sketch-Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent."; "The Spanish Papers"; "Tales of a Traveller" by Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.; and "Wolfert's Roost and other Papers, Now First Collected". All books are 3/4 leather and green-blue marbled boards and marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt on all. Five raised bands on spines with gilt lettering and decorations. Tan ribbon bookmarks attached to head of spine. All books are generally in Very Good condition with normal wear for age. There are bumps to corners and spine ends and some rubs to edges and gutters of spines. This is an impressive collection of Washington Irving books that would be an asset to any library.
